FOOTFALLS FORWARD

when you woke up in your ditch unsure of anything except that red was your colour, blood coagulated and dry. you realize your throat is parched. unaware of time's passage, stare up at the afternoon sun beating down upon you and your mangled vehicle halfway down the road. halfway, is an unreasonable measurement here in this wilderness. you will be walking from now on. you gather nothing but your mind, stumble on broken foot. away from this disaster, from this valley of dying stars. the place of your broken jaw. onwards from the improbable to the unknown without turning back. the past is left behind. forward.

...the moment alone...

{ tone }
{ and memory failing }
{ arms reset into }
{ awkward places }
{ where only the minds eye }
{ can reach open and calm }
{ raw feeling and the jagged. }
{ unfettered by light }
{ rain and sun }
{ beating down harsh }
{ rebuke }
{ and a broken }
{ marigold }
{ bone. }

CONCRETE INTEGRATION

when separating tension from impact, do not forget that your bones will shatter at the threshold of pavement. if you allow your lifestream to slip through your lacerations, you will fade with all the rest in this wasteland. clutch at the jagged pieces, hold in all your plasma, and breathe. just take one more step. just one more.

FLOATING THROUGH A SEA OF GLASS

when you fly through the air, as your skin dances with the jagged shards, glistening welcome and inviting, listen for your heart beating within your ribcage. hold that moment until it fades, into the concrete of this city dreary.

UNBUCKLED

wrap your heads around the front seat ashtray, melted and seared. like an epiphany of self destruction, bleeding my convictions on factory built carpet.

LOSS OF LIFE SUPPORT

here we go. pull the plug, mother earth is about to return to herself. it is time for our rhythm to reflect back upon itself. eclipse us into collapse, so that we start again.
